WAYS TO IMPROVE MOTIVATION IN AN EDUCATIONAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT
There are a number of things needed to assist with the motivation of employees in a schooling work environment;
1. An establishment of goals that are achievable not only for yourself – being the principal of the school – but also for the teachers and each member of the college community.
2. Provide resources to meet the goals you have established. It is imperative that teachers and school leaders are provided with the right tools and resources needed to achieve success
3. Build trust! Leaders must have the ability to influence group of people toward the achievement of vision or set goals. Trust is predicated on the three core areas of integrity, benevolence, and ability. These areas can be focused on to development a supportive trust between leader and teacher.
4. Make big changes quickly! Changes in educational and organisational policies that become time-consuming see employees become resistant, especially those who don’t like change. For a change to effective be met by employees in a schooling environment, they need to be made quickly and effectively, making cooperation a lot easier.
